women who read collection

Welcome to the Women Who Read collection! Starting in Januraury of 2025, I began with the desire not to draw characters from the books I read, but instead to draw the women who read them. Each portrait tells a story of the women behind the book and gives insight to those who connect with each story. Further, each floral background is made specifically to pair both the reader and her book, combining her world with that of the story’s. Brightly colored and illustrated to replicate the style and feel of a collage, these full color portraits bring together the mundane with the fantastical as average women go about their day with their books in the hearts and their hands.
